There's something about the crisp, clean air of fall that makes Minnesotans giddy. It's the type of weather that begs to be celebrated. This is the kind of day Benj and Kristina were blessed with for their wedding. And they completely deserved it. After a long summer of 90 degree days...it was absolutely refreshing.
When I first met this couple...I knew they were special. I sensed something different about them. They just seemed so in love. When she looks at Benj...Kristina's eyes sparkle. When he looks at her...you can see his heart melting. He will do anything for her. Going through the pictures from this day, there were so many moments where Kristina was giggling...it was almost as though she was about to bubble over with excitement. She was marrying the love of her life. And Benj couldn't be a better match for her in every way.

You will commonly find the two of them like this. This is not a pose...this is how they are together. If you don't believe me, scroll down to the pictures from their first dance. They are just that much in love.

Kristina...you are absolutely gorgeous.

Burnt orange and purple...for some reason these colors make my mouth water. I love them together.

A romantic evening...

One of my most favorite father-daughter dance moments...

These last photos are dedicated to Benj. This is his dad...who has a very serious side. It is proof that everyone felt like celebrating. And why not...this wedding was meant to be celebrated.

A decade. I've known them for a decade. When I look back on all of the things that have happened in the last ten years...all of the places I have gone...schools I've attended...jobs I've had...it seems like forever. But when I look at our friendships...the time has just flown by. Back then, if someone had told me they would be married ten years later, I'm not sure that I would have believed it...but now, it makes complete sense. Ryan (Hendo as I call him) is quite possibly one of the most hilarious individuals I have ever known. He doesn't even need to say anything to make me smile...all he has to do is look at me and I laugh. You know he's constantly thinking of something funny to do or say...so it's only a matter of time before it comes to life. On the other hand, my beautiful friend Sandie (Sandra as I call her) is the sweetest friend I have ever known. Nothing I could say would fully describe the nature of her kindness. She is one of my absolute best friends and has been there through every turn of my life these last ten years. She is the kind of friend who will be there no matter what. She is loyal. And she's one dang good baker.
I feel completely blessed and honored to get to document their nuptials in just a few short weeks...they are so completely in love, it makes me melt to watch them.

When I did their brief engagement session, I was 8 and a half months along... so we were limited with how long I could tromp around in the woods. We were lucky enough to get there right around sunset...and it turned out perfect.

The two of you really are good together...you know that?

My little Santa Baby...
Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
I've been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
I'll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight
Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed
Next year I could be oh so good
If you'd check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo

WARNING - this post is long. In fact, it might be my longest post to date...but I could not narrow it down. I was so in love with everything about this day...and I adore this couple. Scott and Julie feel like old friends... Scott and I have been acquaintances for a long time, but it wasn't until we met to talk about their wedding that I got to know him and Julie better. They are a power couple. Intelligent, articulate, and full of personality, they are so fun to spend time with. And, they are surrounded by wonderful friends (I can't help but be a little it biased because some of their best friends are also some of mine).
Scott and Julie had their wedding reception at The Depot in Minneapolis, so we began the day there. The historic hotel was beautiful.

I love me some Kate Spade...drooling now...

Scott loves him some Nice Ride...Scott, you make me smile.

As is common for attorneys, Scott has an appreciation for the bow tie...and he claims to be able to tie it himself. I waited for about 20 minutes to see if he could get it right, but left before he finished...I'm still not sure that he actually tied it himself...

Julie...you are simply stunning...and I love your laugh...

This photo gives me goosebumps...

Scott gave Julie a jewelry box for their wedding...just like his dad did for his mom on their wedding day...so sweet.

The anticipation of the First Look is the best...

And this is how they really are...Scott is so in love with her...

Her dress was one of my favorites from the season. Sophisticated and gorgeous.

I love those moments when there is not a soul on the bridge. It's awe-inspiring.

These next two photos are some of my all-time favorites...it's all about the cathedral length veil...

Scott can go from adorable...

to strikingly handsome in the same second.

These cuties win the most darling children prize...that kiss was all him.

And being the new mom that I am, I was so impressed that both Scott and Julie's sisters had babies within one week and two weeks of the wedding...and stood next to their sides like nothing had changed. Of course, everyone fawned over these little munchkins...they are so precious.

These guys are the best. I could have photographed them all day.

If you follow the blog, you know I love making the groomsmen dance with the bride...it is so entertaining to just step back and click away while they run with it.

Julie's ring is jaw-droppingly beautiful...

A bow tie affair...

this little guy even sported a bow tie...

Some alone time after a long and wonderful day is always a nice way to wind down...

The two of you are amazing. Thank you so much for inviting me into this beautiful moment in your lives...
Julie says:
Noelle - you have given us the best Christmas present EVER!!!!!!! As I said before, and definitely goes without saying, your skill as an artist is astounding and unmistakable. You're amazing!!
